Dear Visitor,

Welcome to the website of First Presbyterian Church, Clarkesville, Georgia! We are a lively, thriving and growing congregation (200 strong!). The historic church, founded in 1832, is planted in the midst of northeast Georgia's beautiful mountains.

Our Worship Services are dynamic, filled with worshippers who come to praise God and experience the presence of the Holy Spirit. Our children (including Youth) are active participants during worship. Some are Acolytes, some reenact Biblical stories during Children's Time, others sing in the Kid's Choir, and some serve as ushers or as Liturgist readers.

Although our younger children participate in 'big church' they also have their own Children's Chapel Worship Service which we recently inaugurated. Our Youth Group, 'CrossRoads,' meets on Sunday mornings as well as on Wednesday nights.

We offer mid-week 'Wonderful Wednesdays' with a pot-luck meal followed by programs for adults, youth and children. We provide childcare both Sundays and Wednesday nights. We have 8 Sunday School Classes, divided between adults and children and meet at 10:15 a.m. on Sundays.

We work at the Soup Kitchen, serve as Prayer Partners in the local free health clinic, and have recently partnered with Habitat for Humanity to become a Christ-centered resource center for Habitat families. We are renovating a historic house, which will serve as the center for our Mission and Outreach ministry.

We are on the move and trying to keep up with what God is calling us to do. If you are looking for a church home, we hope you will visit with us and we pray that this church feels like 'home.'

Blessings to you,
